There’s no denying that making spelling mistakes is quite embarrassing. If you want to avoid making embarrassing spelling mistakes, you need to have spelr by your side. This is a spell checking utility for Window that works with any program. It can check your spelling if you’re writing a review, composing an email, completing a browser form, and so on.

There’s nothing complicated about getting spelr up and running on a Windows PC (any 32- or 64-bit Windows edition from Windows 2000 onward). You just have to download an installer, run it, and then follow to the very simple steps presented onscreen by a setup wizard. You’ll be done in no time at all.

The first time you run spelr, you will be presented with the application’s Settings menu. From it you can: pick one of many dictionaries, request a new dictionary, manually add a dictionary; change the hotkeys for the functions to spell check the clipboard, a selection, or an entire document; set it so that spelr automatically runs at startup; enable the option to auto-paste corrected text; manually check for program updates; and more.

While spelr is running, you will see an icon in the system tray. Nothing happens if you right click it. But if you left click it, a context menu will show up. It features the following options: Enable; Settings; Auto-Paste; Auto-Correct Typos; Help; Exit.

By pressing the default Shift + F1 hotkey, you will instruct spelr to check the spelling of the text that is copied to the clipboard. spelr will check the text, correct it, and put it back in the clipboard.
By pressing the default Shift + F2 hotkey, you will instruct spelr to check the text that you selected. The corrected text will be put in the clipboard so you can paste it wherever you want.
By pressing the default Shift + F3 hotkey, you will instruct spelr to check all the text in a document. The corrected text will be placed in the clipboard.

About Shift +F2 and Shift +F3. It is worth noting that the corrected text will not be placed in the clipboard if you enable the auto-paste option from the Settings menu.

spelr is free software. If you find it useful, please make a donation.

With the free spelr application by your side, you won’t make embarrassing spelling mistakes.

Use hotkey to spell check the contents of the clipboard, to spell check selected text, and to spell check an entire document. spelr is free software (donations are welcome).

Cons

None that I could think of.
